ekabo donyi

ekabo donyi is a non-binary multidisciplinary artist, and designer. Born in Kerala and raised in Bangalore, their work stems from India’s hyperdiverse creolizing environment. Their practice spans painting, sculpture, conceptual art, performance, costume, writing, digital media, and curation, with a focus on decentralised collaboration.

Artists statement

We are not human. Drawing from Post-humanism, New Materialism, and Indic philosophies, we engage in a process of cultural mutation and decomposition; shedding our individual self into spectral Otherness.

We are decolonising. Amidst the fragmenting forces of socio-political cybernetics and their imposed binaries on selfhood, our practice embraces multiplicity and transience as decolonial methodologies of emancipation.
We are mapping our movements across digital and cultural ecologies, finding forms in our network of relations and tracing them through relics and rituals of unbecoming.
